END OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR - SUMMER VACATION

It is amazing how quickly the academic year has flown by. The last day of the academic year 2012-2013 ended today. It means a long awaited-summer vacation starts from tomorrow.

A long vacation is the most expected part in student’s school life! They can just laze around, unwind, eat, play and make merry! It provides time for rest and leisure; to rejuvenate and reinvigorate.

It is during the vacation that what has been gathered during the session of the school can be allowed to settle down, break down, resolved and be assimilated into one’s being.

To deprive the child of childhood vacation is like depriving a flower of its fragrance. But , at the same time , the duties of a student must not be forgotten either. A balance , between recreation and work must be found to ensure a break that is positive and relaxing at the same time.

To have a productive, enjoyable, and regret-free summer vacation, follow these tips:
1. Wake up early: After a few days of lengthy sleep, it is advisable to wake up early. It helps in keeping your biological clock alert.

2. Maintain good health and hygiene: Brush your teeth and bath often. Summer is a great time to get in shape, or stay in shape. Try to join a summer sport, Health club or at the very least get outside and have fun every day.

3. Study: Keep your brain active, read for school or pleasure, research your own interests, or even just get into crossword puzzles.
Because, the experience of vacation could make you to forget all the mathematics and English that has been taught during the previous year
Look over last year's notes, or do some research into what next year's courses have in store. Learn at least 10 new words daily and try to make your own sentences with it
Practice problems on the basic mathematical operations, Solve logical puzzles, Read autobiography of scientists.
Watch the English News regularly and practice the writing skills.

4. Plan a summer trip: Summer trip will help to become more aware of history, science, and geography. Try to make a route map of the place you wish to travel. Compute the cost, the miles you expect to travel, the fees for a trip to fun places you may plan to visit. Compare with the real situation.
Otherwise,  at least visit the local park, go for a walk with the family members or just have a swim in a local pool. Doing things together as a family generates memories that last the rest of your life. Summer is a great time for the whole family.

5. Join a volunteer group of some sort: This activity will make you stay in contact with friends, have a great sense of accomplishment, stay active, and even help others!

6. Go to a camp and learn something new: Try to acquire some new skill this summer. It can be a game ,swimming, rock climbing, writing, drawing, binding books, making photo albums, knitting etc,. Try something different that you know nothing whatsoever about, and you will gain a new skill and possibly find a lifelong love. Another upside is that you have a lot of time to practice and put your skill to use!

7. Stay active in your society: Meet up with friends and go to social gatherings.

I hope you would be able to make the right choice and learn another lesson and stepping stone on the way to become an evolved human being

Have a wonderful vacation !
