Women's
Day is celebrated throughout the globe on 8th March every year since 1975 as
per the directions of the United Nations organization. The day is marked to
appreciate the remarkable contribution of women to our society. They have been helping men ever since their
creation.
A
woman is a mysterious creation who has a power to create, nurture and transform
the lives. She is a center of love, sacrifice, care and ability to take care of
life. She plays different roles with easiness like a dutiful wife, obedient
daughter, caring mother or adoring sister.
Women
since time immemorial had powers to bring a change. Women fought with all odds
to emerge as a winner. History is stuffed with examples of courageous women
like Lakshmibai, Indira Gandhi, Hellen Keller and so on.
Women
now are more empowered and aware of their rights and the society has accepted
their stand. The society is changing and paving way for the growth of the
women. The changes can be seen in the fields of education, healthcare, equality
and job opportunity. The new decade has seen a marked change in attitude
towards women at large. Women have made strides in every field like politics,
space exploration.
Even
though women were empowered, they have been targeted by a part of our
community. They are victims of molestation, domestic violence and social
indifferences. When we turn the Newspapers we can see at least one news
everyday about the injustice done to women.
What
shall we do to overcome this?
Is
it enough to celebrate International Women’s day every year?
No!
There
should be drastic change in our attitude towards women. We should raise our
voice against all types of odds.
Let’s
honour the life, grit and determination of women.
Let’s
give hope to them that we, Men stand for their safety.
Let’s
not keep silence when we see injustice done to women.
Let’s
wish the women of India health, happiness, safety, success and continued
progress
as well as prosperity
